You want it, but they won’t build it. We’ve often noted the difficulty in finding an architect to incorporate green elements into residential home design (“What? You don’t want a fridge big enough to store a family of elephants?”). In this DVD, designer and filmmaker Ted Owens takes us through the building of his own energy-efficient, environmentally friendly home, showing things like how to lay out windows for passive heating and cooling, build walls with straw bales or adobe, and construct a rainwater cistern. The design’s not quite TH, but the principles are all there. $35. 2hr 45min. Via Earth Architecture ::Building with Awareness [by KK]
