We’ve mentioned BioDiesel a few times and now we’re bringing you BioOil. The first test run of the product has been successfully completed in Ontario and DynaMotive is expected to begin bringing power to residences soon. BioOil is produced in a quick, two second “pyrolysis process” by converting organic residues such as forest and agricultural wastes into BioOil, charcoal and non-condensable gases. Pyrolysis, in case you were wondering, is the decomposition of the residue caused by heat. There is zero waste as the BioOil and charcoal have significant commercial application and value and the non-condensable gases are recycled. These gases produce approximately 75% of the energy required for the pyrolysis process. BioOil is a clean, cost-effective, liquid alternative to replace fossil fuel for “green power” generation, transportation and district heating. · BioOil does not produce any heavily regulated sulfur dioxide emissions.
· Because BioOil is manufactured from organic waste, it is considered greenhouse gas neutral and can generate carbon dioxide credits.
· BioOil fuels have approximately 50% lower nitrogen oxide emissions than diesel fuel when combusted.
· BioOil is produced from forest and agricultural wastes such as sawdust, bark, or sugar cane waste.
Compared to other biomass fuels, BioOil can be stored, pumped and transported to equalalize energy demand and distribution. DynaMotive is focused on its first three commercial projects in three different countries with three different applications of BioOil.
