Calling all cool Northern Cali cats: The South Bay Spring Home & Garden Show taking place this weekend (Jan. 7-9) sounds like the hot spot to be. That’s mostly because the door-prize giveaway is a $25,000 dollar solar package— a complete turnkey grid-connect system—from Kyocera and Akeena. The deets: You must not have a shady roof and you must live in a qualifying utility district no farther than 75 miles away...
The giveaway is partially in support of the Million Solar Roofs Initiative (yet another Schwarzeneggerazation) which targets the installation of one million solar electric systems in the state of California by 2015. Though the initiative failed to pass last year, many believe it will surface again in the next legislative session.
The drawing will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. No purchase necessary. The show is located at the Santa Clara Convention Center in San Jose, California.
