Passionate about making America more cycling friendly? Then you will probably be getting yourself to Washington DC for this year’s National Bike Summit on 16-18 March 2005. The event brings together thousands of cyclists, industry and professionals from the sectors of transport, health and environment, while it also engages all three levels of government. Organised via the League of American Cyclists, who have been campaigning for better conditions for riders for over a century. They have set themselves the ambitious task of “... improving our physical and mental well-being, the environment, energy efficiency, local economies, and the quality of life.” Special sessions will include energy use, safe routes to schools and mountain biking. $455 for the 3 days to non members, $100 off to League members. ::League of American Cyclists [by WM]
