The relative enviro merits of plastics are a tricky topic. We still check the Reactual pyramid when a manufacturer tries to get away with calling a plastic environmentally friendly. One thing is certain: PVC is bad news. Now Umbra at Grist has taken a closer look at readily available consumer plastics—all those ones with the little numbers in the recycle symbols.
