Eco-Celeb: Goran Visnjic

goran_visnjic.jpgGoran Visnjic isn’t a doctor, but he plays one on TV. He is, however, a campaigner for animals, having joined up with the International Fund for Animal Welfare after seeing seal-hunting videos that turned his ER-hardened stomach. He’s appalled that seals are still being hunted for their furs and apparently aphrodisiac intestines (TreeHugger will continue to keep seal entrails out of the bedroom, thanks very much), and particularly that the hunting methods are so inhumane. He hopes the IFAW will help to replace seal-hunting with seal-watching, similar to the way it helped to develop a commercial alternative to hunting with whale-watching. Replacing a destructive industry with a way to appreciate nature? That’s just what the doctor ordered. Via InStyle ::International Fund for Animal Welfare [by KK]
