Yeah, we know; a war museum isn’t the likeliest enviro pick. A Japanese-Canadian interned during WW2 maybe isn’t the likeliest architect for the place, either. But under the building’s theme of “regeneration,” it all makes sense. We’ve been saying a lot about green roofs, and that’s because there’s so much you can do with them. Here, Raymond Moriyama’s grassed roof slopes out of the ground to regenerate the earth broken by the building—instead of using up valuable space, it opens new public green space.
