path cricketnaturalhemp400.jpgStreet-chic skaters already know that IPath footwear keeps you ice cold. TreeHugger types can hop on that bandwagon, since the company produces about a dozen different styles of footwear fashioned from hemp. Guaranteed to suit your needs, whether you’re looking for a straight-up skating shoe or a comfortable chukka for session-free afternoons. About $35-75. ::IPath [by MO]

these shoes are of horrible quality! i had a black pair for a couple months before the stitching on the rubber started coming off the shoe. eventually the rubber sole came off. the hemp wasnt very durable either, the toes were the first to get holes. they were super comfortable though!

I have a pair of IPath Native skate shoes and I found them to be pretty durable. The hemp was so thick that it took a while to break in, but once they did they were the most comfortable sneakers I've owned.

Anyone have any info as to whether or not they employ slave labor to make these? I know they're made in China which makes them questionable anyway, but do they at least follow moral labor practices?

jump to top Ed says:

i don't know anything about ipath's production, but
hemp grown in china is loaded with pesticides. it's
best to look for canadian or romanian hemp-grown
products.

i have a pair of the cats and they are probably the most confortable shoes ive had in a long time. i dont skate that much at all but just for casual shoes they are very nice and id advise them to anyone.
