Julian Lwin $250K Laundry Lamp

Product designer Julian Lwin has taken laundry detergent containers and cleaned them up. Using a low-energy florescent tube, he's repurposed the bottles into art and lighting that casts an interesting glow. $250K (the name, not the price) is made from reclaimed laundry liquid bottles that Lwin found as he wandered through his neighborhood on...
...recycling day(see image below). "As an industrial/product designer, I've worked designing bottles--the minimum to get one of these off the drawing table is around $50k. So when walking my neighborhood streets I saw all these bottles around and figured, 'Well, there goes $250k worth of product design--hence my reason to turn them into lighting."
