Julia Butterfly Hill: Activism is Patriotism

Julia Butterfly Hill climbed to fame by spending three years living in a redwood. Climbed – geddit? Anyway, back on terra firma, her foundation Circle of Life encourages activism ‘that honors the diversity and interdependence of all life.’ She recently appeared in a public service announcement for the foundation’s new campaign, Activism is Patriotism, a collaboration with loads of other eco- and political organizations, including Angela Lindvall’s Collage Foundation. The website, promoted by ads in Rolling Stone and Time, offers ways to use your mind, your money, your voice, and your vote to influence political decision-making. Being stuck with a certain someone for another four years only makes the campaign more timely. ::Activism is Patriotism [by KK]
