U2's Bono to Design Jeans for Rogan
by on 11.22.04
Would you trust Victoria Beckham to design your jeans? Neither would I. Fortunately, a line of jeans designed by Bono is scheduled for release around the same time as hers next summer. More to the point, his jeans will use environmentally friendly materials. It was reported earlier that the collection, which he’ll design with his wife Ali Hewson for Rogan, is “not specifically denim-centric” and will range beyond just jeans. The name? EDUN. That’s “nude” in reverse, so we’re expecting something pretty wild. Check out our other clothing picks in the meantime. Via femalefirst.co.uk ::Rogan [by KK]

I have alot of respect for what Bono is doing. He is up there with Oprah in my book!!!! Good Luck and I hope to check out his new line with his partners.

Dear Sir,
My name is Christian Ramdeholl, as someone also deeply commited many things rather than one thing.
I unlike the hundreds of fans in Ireland alone, seek "Bono" help, support and utter hatred of world poverty. As such with temperance in the mind itself
of genuinely relevant person, namely Bono. I hereby ask: a list of the 10 World's most indebted countrie(s)or whatever those afflicted with absentia within the groves of the academia call countries nowadays.
At any rate, do oblige in kind old-boy...
Faithfully
Yours,
Christian Robert Ramdeholl at UTSC Can
I appreciate what Bono is trying to do with this new line of clothing, but I have a significant concern. While the clothes may be produced in an ethically sound manner from environmentally friendly materials, it seems to me to be counterproductive to then ship the clothes around the world. Burning fossil fuels so that people in Moscow and New York can wear a T-shirt made in South America or Africa just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
But it could make sense to process the raw materials at the site, instead of transporting raw materials and creating waste in countries where its to expensive to re-use the waste. Better create manufacturing jobs in countries who produce the raw material. But the question how its transported is a good one.
