Intel's Surfer Surfboard
by TreeHugger
on 11.25.04

Earlier this year, Intel commissioned their own design nerds and a surfboard shaper in the U.K. to fabricate a stick embedded with a tablet PC. Why? Simply so they could market their new Centrino processor to tawny, brawny beach babes at sandy festivals around the globe. A surfer using the wi-fi-eqipped, solar-powered board, should he get bored of catching tubes, can send e-mail, shoot videos with a built-in Web cam, and (ha ha) surf the Web. Get it? It's a, heh, surfer and he's, heh, surfing. Trite double entendre, weird marketing concept, strange idea. Via ::Time and ::PocketLint[by MO] Ed Note: We can land a man on the moon...?!!!?
