American Apparel Sustainable Clothing
by TreeHugger on 11. 3.04
Almost reads like a work of fiction. T-shirts and underwear made on-shore, in the US of A, where the machinists are even paid fair wages, in a factory located in downtown LA, that just happens to knit its own fabric. And in this case knitted with 100% USDA Certified Organic Cotton. Sweatshop free, pesticide free and sexy. Now that's a song TH would like to hear more manufacturers singing. Under $15. ::AA [by WM]

A classic T for men.

The link to AA is broken.
I love AA's clothes. The shirts fit so perfectly and I am so glad to see that they are working more and more with organic cotton.
Wow, you folks might as well just do a redirect to http://www.metaefficient.com considering they are often days ahead of you in terms of updates for the same products you post. At least you are not bias against expensive prosumer products and have oriented yourselves to provide for a more a Bohemian Bourgeois lifestyle.
1. the link direct to the AA organic line is now repaired
2. Its a small world and sometimes metaefficient's train arrive at the station before the Treehugger locomotive and sometimes its the reverse. There's no race, we're all just happy to keep the information chugging along.
What you have failed to mention is that AA is a union busting company whose CEO is now being sued by past employees for Sexual Harassment. His public comments on Women are enough to make a sane man sick, and his ads exploit women in the worst way. Yes, AA has decent wages, but their other benefits lag behind other American unionized shops. So, can something still be "GREEN" if they are exploitive?

If American Apparel can make it work and still be profitable, why can't other companies? What's their secret?
