If you happen to be in New York next week, you may want to check this out. On October 28, at 6:30 p.m., Alexis Karolides of the Rocky Mountain Institute and Joel Towers of the New School University will get together in New York for a lecture to discuss “Biomimicry: Innovative Design Solutions From Nature”. Karolides has conducted extensive research on improving energy and resource efficiency and the enhancement of the earth's limited resources using biomimicry, and will address strategies that look to nature for design solutions. Towers, in response to the lecture, will discuss incorporating sustainability issues into design education programs. The event will be held at the Parsons School of Design, at the New School University, 66 West 12th Street, New York City. Attendance fees are $10 for Cooper-Hewitt and Architectural League members and students; $15 for non-members; and $10 for students. If you go to the New School, entry is gratis. ::Cooper-Hewitt
