From New Zealand, Icebreaker's hoodies, baselayers, and outerwear are intended for adventurous outdoorsy types who need technical fabrics to achieve great things, but their style's so slick, they serve street-bound hipsters equally well. All of Icebreaker's duds are made entirely from merino wool from Kiwi sheep; the fleece is annually renewable and biodegradable when returned to the land. Lucky you--a few U.S. company's are carrying their wares online. about $20-120 ::Rutabaga

Icebreaker isn't made in New Zealand - it's made in China! Just remember - this is the country with the worst environmental pollution record in the world, and one of the worst human rights records. I really don't see how anyone who values the environment - or people - would want to buy stuff made there. I know some people think that by trading with China they will somehow improve things - but remember South Africa under apartheid. It wasn't until the world started boycotting the regime that things really started to change. If I want to buy NZ merino, then I'll buy from a company who makes the gear in New Zealand as well.
