Fuck for Forest
by TreeHugger on 10.10.04
We’re no prudes when it comes to sex, but when we read about the kooky Norwegian kids behind Fuck for Forest, we did cock our heads and raise our eyebrows. But are these extremists “a new breed of environmentalists--or perhaps a new breed of porn stars”? That’s what Grist magazine writer Lissa Harris asked. ::Fuck for Forest
First, Leona Johansson, 21, and Tommy Holm Ellingsen, 28, got on stage during a rock festival and went all the way for their cause (the environment). Now they’re trying to raise cash for environmental causes with their pay-for porno Web site. Only trouble is, a lot of global organizations won’t accept their, um, cheeky help. So are they nude poseurs or true causers? It’s hard to tell, but at some point, that cash will surely be scooped up by a good cause...Wait a sec--we’re a good cause. Hey! Fuck for Forest! Over here!

Hello
I guess this means I need to start screening the treehugger stories from the childrens now, and perhaps not view the site from work.
dont like the total nudity to sell anything guess im a prude. partial would be ok, even the peta adds dont go all the way
Fuck for Forest is a great idea. Pretty much everybody has sex, with the exception of asexuals. So, especially with the help of the internet sex market, this has tremendous potential. Why not use sex, something that everyone has an interest in to aide a cause that is endlessly important and in danger.
Also, FFF is working directly with indigenous people in need of their help because the WWF won't accept their funds. So that means that less money is wasted on some exec's paycheck. Fuck the organizations that are too 'clean' for FFF.
I think its a great idea. It gets the attention of people who normally wouldnt be interested in supporting the environment to do so through their 'personal interests'
I think this is well enough removed from the main site to give warning before kids get to it. You *do* watch what your kids look at on the internet, right?
The fairly "Green Your Sex Life" link off another side link from the main board should be the first warning that you might not want to come here for the sake of kids or bosses.
Cute article, cool idea. But then again, I'm an old hippie.
People keep saying we need to make sustainability 'sexy'. :)
maybe this is taking it a bit too far - got peoples attention though didn;t it!
70% of all internet use is porn. Everyone is doing it. Who cares if the money goes to a good cause and a non profit organizations instead of mafia ans scumbags?
It is good to protect forest no matter where the money comes from unless you don/t kill or steal it/
But why you're only concerned about forest?
How about billions of animals, birds, fish slaughtered every day across the globe?
What's more important - tree life or pig life?
I guess I got your point - in trying to protect forest you primarily think about your own survival as without trees there will be no oxygen.
But how about deliverance of entire animal world from slaughter and terrible torture which they suffer even from civilized nations?
It might be by far greater good cause to pursue
Nalina: Actually if you look at the FFF web site, you'll see that they do indeed support animal rights and veg*n causes.
Good for them!
