lightembrace.jpgThe fact that the Embrace lamp refers readily back to Le Corbu does a lot for our eyes, but the materials designer Marc Th. van der Voorn specified unfortunately do little for the planet. Currently made in chromed steel and chintz, it’d be picture perfect in aluminum/basic steel and chintz made from organic cotton, with a florescent bulb. ::AAN-UIT

Designers sometimes overlook these simple facts, like for example the presence of chrome which implies a contaminating chemical process. AAN UIT still has to learn how to design not only with good taste but with good environment sensitivity.
