Despite many other scholars' tendencies to overemphasize logic and reason, Grudin's credence to creativity conjures the aura of fellow polymath and Treehugger hero - R. Buckminster Fuller.

Robert Grudin has wonderfully graced Treehugger with a sneak peak of his next book, American Vulgar. This preview (after the jump) is actually a draft of an entire chapter entitled "Vulgarity and Nature", so be prepared to bookmark this one. The book is scheduled for a Fall 2006 release and will be published by Shoemaker & Hoard.

ENN is a comprehensive eco-news source that utilizes radio, video and online media to spread the good green word. For you blog addicts that are more accustomed to quick shots of info, they offer Ecobytes. It's a quick list of four different news sections that can be added to your active desktop. The site also lists a weekly summary of international environmental news in the form of a top ten with links to the in-depth articles.... Read the full story on TreeHugger

Rodale: Helping To Make The World A Healthier Place

There are currently a decent number of independent magazines, websites, podcasts and tv productions helping to branch out the big green dream. However, we wanted to find which of the numerous media companies out there are communicating the message through multiple mediums simultaneously. Not long ago we highlighted how the Environmental Media Association has been doing their part to spread eco-consciousness. Continuing on with our green media highlights, we present Rodale. ... Read the full story on TreeHugger

Making Show Biz Green

The moving image is highly effective in communication because it can make information easier to consume. Film and television reflect a great deal of culture and society, but also largely contribute to their shape-shifting. Recently, we mentioned how TV is starting to include more and more eco-conscious programming. However, there are other ways the messages are being incorporated onscreen.... Read the full story on TreeHugger

Don't Adjust Your TV; It's Just Getting Greener

As the LOHAS market gains momentum, TV programmers are looking to cash in. We're doing our best to keep up with all the green-themed tv shows out there. MTV, who planted a green seed with Cameron Diaz and Trippin' debuted The Diary of Angelina Jolie & Dr. Jeffrey Sachs in Africa last month. All these networks are helping to bring much needed eco-awareness to the masses and the MTV productions are a good indication that it's surely slipping into the mainstream. The thought puts a big grin on our Treehugger faces, but we know - this is just the beginning.
