Want the Presidential Debate Moderators to Ask About Climate? Then Tweet Them This

Miller Center/CC BY 2.0

The folks over at Protect Our Winters have the right idea here, so I'll just quote them:

FOUR YEARS IS TOO LONG TO WAIT FOR ANY MOVEMENT FORWARD ON A STRONG CLIMATE POLICY.  IT’S IMPERATIVE THAT WE FORCE THE CANDIDATES TO ADDRESS THE MOST PRESSING ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE OF OUR TIME.  LET’S START IN THE DEBATES.

Please join us by flooding the Twitter feeds of each of the 2012 moderators, so on our behalf, they can force the candidates to talk about their position on climate during the four nationally televised debates.  Send it now!

Sample Tweets:

  • Please don’t let the candidates off the hook.  Ask them about their position on climate! #protectourwinters #cooldebates
  • We’ve had enough extreme weather.  Please ask the candidates about their position on climate!  #protectourwinters #cooldebates
  • A strong climate policy creates jobs.  Please ask the candidates about their position on climate!  #protectourwinters #cooldebates

Moderating the debates this year: October 3rd is Jim Lehrer; October 11th is Martha Raddatz; October 16th is Candy Crowley; and, October 22nd is Bob Schieffer.

So what other green issues do you want to the moderators to focus on?
