Agenda 21 and the UN Plot to Take Over America: Bill Proposed In Florida Expands Its Reach To Stop Just About Everything Green

Agenda 21 is a United Nations document that promotes sustainable development. It's actually quite benign, but the John Birch Society and others have promoted it as "an elaborate maze of deceit.. to ensnare the vast majority of people into a life of cramped, stack and pack housing, mandated public transportation use, serious restrictions on personal food, water, and energy use, and indoctrination of the youth into a socialistic and fascistic outlook on life generally." More background here.

In Florida: Anti-Agenda Bill on the Docket

Rally 'round the flag in Florida on October 20, when state senate President-designate Don Gaetz puts forward a motion called the Property Rights Bill to ensure that the evils of Agenda 21 never touch the sunshine state. My favorite paragraph of the bill (full bill here)

Since the United Nations has accredited and enlisted numerous non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations to assist in the implementation of its policies relative to Agenda 21 around the world and in the United States, the State of Florida and all of its political subdivisions may not enter into any agreement, expend any sum of money, receive any funds, receive any grants, or receive any contracting services, or giving financial aid to or from those United Nations non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations as defined in Agenda 21 or any of its ancillary programs.

In other words, since everything from transit to smart growth to bike paths to environmental regulations can be found in Agenda 21 and its ancillary programs, say goodbye to them all in Florida if this passes.

What Every Urban Planner Can Look Forward To: Being Charged With Treason

ICLEI is the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives; hundreds of cities and towns are members. It's an international organization, and according to one group of Agenders,

Article 1 Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution prohibits states or their subdivisions from entering into any "treaty, alliance or confederation" with a foreign political organization. ....Many elected city officials are indoctrinated through their League of Cities seminars and other associations to embrace Sustainable Development – Agenda 21 principles. This often leads to an ICLEI contract which accelerates the ride down the path of ruin....

We recommend that a Misprision of Treason be presented to elected officials who fail to attempt to sever the ICLEI association. A misprision is described as: "Misprision of treason is the failure to perform a public duty. A person who knows that a treason is being or is about to be committed but does not report it to a proper authority commits a misprision of treason."

The Boston Globe on "Recycling, tree pruning, and other assaults on liberty"

Renee Loth of the Boston Globe explains the threat and the problem to a larger audience.

It may be tempting to dismiss all this as a fringe movement, but it has been rapidly gaining adherents. This year, the black-helicopter set made common cause with Tea Party activists concerned about an over-reaching government, and more mainstream politicians are taking notice. The national Republican Party officially adopted an anti-Agenda 21 plank in its platform last month. “We strongly reject the UN Agenda 21 as erosive of American sovereignty, and we oppose any form of UN Global Tax.

She concludes:

It is a measure of our polarized politics that the Republican Party has been invaded by, or at least influenced by, a group that demonizes bike paths and recycling — practical ideas that shouldn’t be partisan at all. It’s time to stop laughing off the liberty councils. Their angry, ill-informed protests are having a real effect, rolling back policies that make communities cleaner, more rational, more efficient, and more livable for every red-blooded American.

Esquire on the Boston Globe Article

Charles Pierce writes:

Surely, I thought, Renee must be mistaken. There is no way that the Republican party, one of the only two political parties that we have permitted ourselves here in the world's oldest democracy, would embed in its official statement of purpose, approved by acclamation at its national convention, a bizarre conspiracy that is literally the product of the John Birch Society.

Pray with me

From "The Agender's Prayer"

We, Your children, humbly come before You, imploring Your continued divine guidance and protection in our battle against the inherent evil that exists in the United Nations and in their plan for a godless one world government.
