Every year Apple holds the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. It's all about new product announcements and Apple meeting with its developers, but they also use the occasion to highlight particularly good apps for iOS device (iPhones iPads, iPod Touch, etc). One of the winners this year is an app with an environmental mission, the WWF's Together app. Not only is it gorgeous, it's also educational.

Check it out in the video below, and if you like it, you can get it for free.

Here's Apple's blurb on WWF Together:

WWF Together is an exquisite iPad app that lets you experience the world's most amazing animals by bringing you closer to the stories of giant pandas, tigers, polar bears, and many other fascinating endangered species. With its outstanding attention to detail, beautiful aesthetic, wonderful sound design and music score, engaging writing, high resolution photography, rich typography, and inventive interactions, WWF Together sets the bar higher for iPad app design. Built from the ground up and tailored for iPad, WWF Together takes advantage of all of the capabilities of Multi-touch, gestures, device motion, Core Location, and OpenGL ES.

You can get the app for free on iTunes.

By the way, if you are a visual artist, I can also vouch for Procreate. Great app! I just wish I had the skills to properly use it...
