There is minimal ingredient preparation -- just some onions to chop, garlic to mince, and ginger to grate -- and once everything is added in due order, you only need to allow it to simmer for 10 minutes, making this an easy 30-minute meal.

So, cook your wheatberries up ahead of time, and then you'll only need a few minutes to simmer the onions and mushrooms in white wine and dress the grains. And I don't think a simpler recipe for a casserole exists.
