Yesterday Jeff asked Would You Pay a Tiny Flight Tax to Help Protect People from Climate Change?, noting that a $ 6.00 charge on international flights could raise $10 Billion to fight climate change. Would that hurt?
I looked at my last ticket and see that I paid an Air traveller security charge, NAV charge, Airport improvement fee, US Agriculture Tax, US Immigration tax, USC ($32.10 and I have no idea what it is) Passenger Facility Charge, Sept 11 US Security Tax, Sales taxes, totalling $ 101.59, or 24% of the cost of travel. Would I even notice $6?
