However Vanessa Farquharson writes in Canada's National Post that "It's true that many of the more sustainable foods on the market cost more than their mass-produced, brand-name alternatives. However, this doesn't mean it's more expensive to keep up a low-impact eating regime."- by shopping local and seasonal, and cooking from scratch, it can be quite economical.
