New Neighbourhood, New Community Garden

The video is in Hebrew (and yes we have many Israeli readers!), but TreeHuggers can get a general feel for the early beginnings of Jerusalem’s community garden Bustan Brody -- a rare and wonderful treat for Israelis walking through the footpaths of the Rahavia neighbourhood where this TreeHugger now lives. Here is a small story on the formation of the garden and since its early days a few years ago, volunteers now come once a week on Thursdays to tend to the fruit trees, shrubs, veggies and herbs which are all free for the taking. As we speak, I am sipping on Moroccan-style tea with a sprig of the garden’s organic sheba (wormwood) herb brewing inside. All organic. ::YouTube
