To celebrate the launch of ESKids -- that's fashionable website EcoStiletto's new section dedicated to wee-huggers -- founder and TH contributor Rachel Sarnoff set up a tent and gathered a venerable who's who of trendy moms and dads. But she wasn't in just any old backyard. The event, sponsored by Green Works Natural Cleaners, was part of the Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots celebration at the United Nations International Day of Peace held recently in Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
Getting things started, Gavin Rossdale performed at the festival, while Gwen Stefani and son Kingston jammed in the audience of the Roots and Shoots Celebration. But those weren't the only celebs in the crowd...Guests to the EcoStiletto tent included Darryl Hannah, Josie Maran, Anna Getty, Darren Moore of Alter Eco, Angel Boris Reed, and McKenzie Westmore. Guests could enjoy eco-friendly mommy and me manicures provided by Recess for Your Hands and Feet. Mommies and young-uns dove into Yogi Poof bean bags and got to make bouquets with Wisteria Lane flowers.
The Hot Moms Club hosted a fashion show, MC'd by Anna Getty and Shiva Rose, and Sarnoff even "wobbled" down the catwalk in a black Loyale dress and (sustainable) Mohop shoes. Guests noshed on snacks by Whole Foods, O.N.E. Coconut Waters, and California Baby samples. Green Works Natural Cleaners made bubbles for the kids using their dish soap. A BMW Hydrogen 7 car was on display too at the Roots and Shoots Celebration. Peace Doves, an initiative by Jane Goodall floated throughout the crowds.
