With the smash hit Glee, about highs and lows of a high school choir, coming back to the airwaves on April 13, the singing, dancing cast has been showing up all over--and showing off their talent for making green choices. The actors sat down with Oprah this week after joining the White House Easter Egg hunt last weekend, but they're still making time to discuss their environmentalism. Actress Lea Michele, who plays the club's head diva, Rachel, filmed an anti-fur PSA for PETA (without stripping down), while Jayma Mays, who plays the vintage-styled guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury, told Mother Nature Network that her favorite accessory is a purse made from soda can tabs and recycled thread. MNN also caught up with the rest of the cast--including Finn, Quinn, and Sue Sylvester--in the video below.

With Earth Day only a few weeks away, the Climate Rally released the lineup for its 40th anniversary concert on the National Mall on April 25--and in addition to a day of tree plantings, rallies, and speeches from Reverend Jesse Jackson, Margaret Atwood, Trudie Styler, and James Cameron, the event includes live musical performances from Sting, John Legend, The Roots, Bob Weir, and Patrick Stump, among others. Don't live in Washington, DC? Earth Day Network offers transportation from cities in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania--so you can add carpooling to your list of good green deeds. For a one-of-a-kind Earth Day celebration this year, spend your night at the Global "Home Tree" Benefit at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, where Avatar director James Cameron and castmembers Michelle Rodriguez and Giovanni Ribisi will partner with other green celebrities--Jason Mraz, Rosario Dawson, Daryl Hannah--to raise money for the Los Angeles Partnership School and the Amazon Rainforest. The evening will also include a question and answer session about the film, a screening that highlights the environmental themes in the film, and sponsorship of a separate Avatar showing and environmental training program geared toward at-risk students in the city.

Singer and animal lover Carrie Underwood is so devoted to her rescue dog, Ace, that she's even set aside a role for him in her upcoming wedding to hockey player Mike Fisher--and she's teamed up with Pedigree's Adoption Drive to encourage other pet rescues by handing out $10,000 checks to shelters including the Pittsburgh Animal Rescue League and The Bideawee Animal Shelter in Manhattan. And as for how her fiancee feels about the cause? "Mike and Ace get along very well," she told Pittsburgh's WXPI. "We're actually working at some point on dog No. 2, so we're excited to go and look for one at some point." (Via Ecorazzi)
