Onscreen, the Gossip Girl gang are scheming, back-stabbing high-schoolers. Not your most likable crew. In real life, the too-pretty-for-words cast are actually very much into the eco-lifestyle. Besides, fighting for a greener production set, the actors are all part of the CW network's green your world campaign. The CW's website devotes an entire section to green living/tips. Yes, the tips are pretty basic, like only run a full dishwasher to insulate your water heater, but every little bit helps to ensure a greener future. Learn more: CW TV: Free 2 Be Green

Chace Crawford's Good Jeans:

Not to be so much of a Gossip Girl promoter (although it is my guilty pleasure), the cast needs to be applauded for its do-good efforts. As reported a few weeks ago, Gossip Girl cutie Chace Crawford starred in the Teens for Jeans PSA, reminding teens that 1 in 3 homeless people are under 18 and encouraging young kids to donate their gently worn jeans to the Teens for Jeans campaign, as part of Do Something's and Aeropostale's partnership. Well, Chace's good jeans effort was a hit. Teens across the U.S. and Canada donated over 200 hundred thousand pairs.

Selena's Puppy Love:

Parents can let out a collective sigh of relief in regards to Selena Gomez. Unlike many of her peers, the 16-year old actress isn't going wild by clubbing, partying, and dating inappropriately aged guys. Instead, she's trying hard to be a positve role model! And, her latest do-good mission is to help make a difference for the homeless dogs and cats of Puerto Rico. She recently filmed a short "Dog-umentary" to spotlight the dismal lives of homeless puppies living in the area and joined forces with Charity Buzz to benefit Island Dog, Inc. Selena blogged about it on her MySpace page: "Whether you bid on something or not everyone can help. Go to Island Dog to see all the different ways you can help the dogs and cats of Puerto Rico." Kate's Beauty Secret:

Kate Hudson's washes her enviable blonde locks in her animal-friendly haircare line. So, it's no surprise the green-minded actress is a big fan of eco-centric Body Deli products. To maintain her dewy complexion, Kate uses the line's 'Liquid Vitamin Hydra-Mist, which packs a green beauty anti-aging punch of vitamin C, nutra-peptides, and sea kelp. "Misting is the key to a flawless finish," says David Parker of The Body Deli in Palm Desert, CA.
