From the Forums: Why Does "Invasive" Have to Mean Bad?

So I came across this story the other day, about invasive snakes in Florida. But I always feel that the idea of "invasive" species is weird- isn't the differing evolution of plant and animal species part of nature? That's how every species has gotten to where it is today- by moving in and out-adapting competing species. Shouldn't we just let nature take its course?
