From the Forums: How to Cross the Atlantic?

Tim could use some travel advice:

Obviously I do not want to fly because of its impact on the climate...but I want to study over there, and I also have family over there. How can I get to the UK without a plane? I assume a ship of some kind, but of course I do not want a cruise there; a passenger ship is all I need. Is taking a ship even greener? Can anyone help me out with this?
