Double Impact Challenge: Why You Should Skip the Drive

Why do you make environmentally conscious decisions? It can save us money, help the environment and even make us feel good, but what if your green actions could also help your favorite charity? That's the idea behind a new game called Double Impact. We've partnered with the game makers to help explain why the challenges in the game are worth taking.Double Impact is based on earning points for taking different challenges, such as using more efficient light bulbs or eating less meat. Another challenge player can take is to reduce their use of a car. Here's why:

Besides releasing emissions that are dangerous for the planet, cars are the least efficient mode of transportation! Reportedly, bikes use the least amount of energy per person per mile and public transportation is most effective at transporting the most people (4,000 per hour, rather than the 170 per hour of cars). If that doesn't sway you, get this -- cars have a negative impact on more than just the environment! They are expensive with the prices of gas, insurance and repairs and detract from your personal health.

Sign up for Double Impact here and help support charities by logging the different green lifestyle choices you make each day.
