Why do you make environmentally conscious decisions? It can save us money, help the environment and even make us feel good, but what if your green actions could also help your favorite charity? That's the idea behind a new game called Double Impact. We've partnered with the game makers to help explain why the challenges in the game are worth taking.Double Impact is based on earning points for taking different challenges, such as using more efficient light bulbs or driving less. Another challenge players can take is to reduce their consumption of meat. Here's why:

Ethical reasons are always a good defense for an animal-free diet, but cutting out meat has a larger effect on the environment than you may think. Consuming animal meat and products (especially red meat) releases higher amounts of greenhouse gases than any other food consumption! These gases are what pollute the planet and cause global climate change. The best way to reduce the carbon footprint of your diet is to try being a vegetarian or, better yet, vegan. Not ready for the leap? Cutting back on your consumption is a huge step! Try celebrating Meatless Mondays or becoming a Weekday Vegetarian.

Sign up for Double Impact here and help support charities by logging the different green lifestyle choices you make each day.
