Double Impact Challenge: Why Skip the Plastic Bottle?

Why do you make environmentally conscious decisions? It can save us money, help the environment and even make us feel good, but what if your green actions could also help your favorite charity? That's the idea behind a new game called Double Impact. We've partnered with the game makers to help explain why the challenges in the game are worth taking.
Double Impact is based on earning points for taking different challenges, such as using more efficient light bulbs or eating less meat. Another challenge player can take is to reduce their use of plastic bottles. Here's why:

Reduce and Reuse are the most important things to remember for plastic consumption. Americans consume 1,500 water bottles every second and the problems extend beyond production costs. 80% of bottles reportedly end up in landfills every year and when you consider that producing one plastic water bottle takes nearly 7 times the amount of water that the bottle holds, it's clear that this is harmful to the earth, water and air quality -- poisoning resources consumed by humans and other animals. Besides, bottled water costs 1,000 times the amount of tap water!

So conserve your money and help the environment by joining us on Double Impact. Every green action you take will help your charity of choice.

Sign up for Double Impact here and help support charities by logging the different green lifestyle choices you make each day.
