This book by Marta Serrats, coming in September, looks like a good read for those interested in a space-optimized, modern home. The houses profiled here prove that thoughtful design and efficiency can be had in a tiny setting. Each project includes a case history describing its design challenges and how the architect overcame them, a detailed blueprint for each house, photos of the interior and the exterior, and plans of the layout. It's available from Amazon. Story via MetaEfficient and Land+Living.
