Bill O'Reilly Goes Solar

Earlier this week, the renowned host of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor proclaimed that he was interested in installing solar panels on his home -- but went on to claim that he couldn't find any solar providers in the area willing to do the job. Immediately after the segment aired, over 60 solar companies in the area signed an open letter to O'Reilly stating that they'd be more than happy to give him a quote.

And now, it looks like he's getting ready to go solar. Watch: (via Climate Progress)

I guess we'll have to wait and see if that "legitimate guy" that O'Reilly found on Long Island can sell him on a solar plan. Though he should be able to, with the wide array of pricing schemes and affordable plans now available in the home solar industry. It seems that the biggest barrier--the ideological one--has been breached, and O'Reilly's ready to start embracing clean power. Let's hope so. And let's hope a personal success story could have a ripple effect in the influential conservative newsroom, and perhaps lead to less knee-jerk renewable energy bashing over there at Fox. Stranger things have happened ...
