Forget those same old gift cards, scented candles, and body lotions: for the pickiest people on your gift list, Farm Sanctuary's "Peace for the Animals" Holiday Auction offers one-of-a-kind experiential gifts that also fund the organization's efforts to rescue farm animals.
Auction items include dinner with Big Love star Ginnifer Goodwin and Skinny Bitch author Rory Freedman, a yoga session with Russell Simmons, VIP tickets to Ellen, a meet-and-greet with Alicia Silverstone, a tour of Ed Begley's home and lunch with the actor, and custom-designed vegan shoes from Milk & Honey. One warning: The auction only runs through December 15, so get bidding.

Try a pair of shoes from TOMS new limited-edition collaboration with Charlize Theron: the men's and women's styles are made from sustainable fabrics with vegan construction, and part of the proceeds from sales go to Theron's Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), which develops programs to support impoverished South African families. And as with any purchase from TOMS, a matching pair of shoes will be donated to children in need--in this case, to those involved with CTAOP. Be the first to get yours when the shoes go up for sale at TOMS on December 15. (Via Vegetarian Star)
Mingle with Celebrities at the Charity: Water BallPhoto via Shape and Colour
In a season full of parties, cocktail hours, and fundraisers, it's hard to know which to choose, but if you like a little celebrity-watching with your champagne, then it's not too late to buy tickets for the Charity: Water Ball on Monday. Held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, the ball is hosted by Adrien Grenier--and past evenings have included appearances and donations from Dustin Hoffman, Jenna Elfman, and Amos Lee. This year's committee includes Kyra Sedgwick, Matthew Modine, Blake Mycoskie, Jessica Stam, and Summer Rayne Oakes; proceeds go to the organization's projects, which provide "clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations."

Actress Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, brought their daughter, Honor, into a green environment straight from birth: Honor's eco-friendly nursery is stocked with formaldehyde-free wood and low-VOC paint; she's swaddled organic cotton clothes during the day and sheets at night; and her mom is working on green renovations for their entire home. This week, Alba told George Lopez that their environmentally-friendly lifestyle extends to 18-month-old Honor's diet: "She doesn't have sugar at all. She doesn't have fruit juice...all of Honor's meals are cooked at home and organic." See our other favorite green celebrity babies for more eco-parenting inspiration. (Via Extra)
