Weather Channel Hosts Essay Contest for High School Students with Eye for Environmental Issues

If you’re a high school student with a passion for the environment and a way with words then we’ve got a contest that’s right up your alley. But you’d better hurry because the deadline for the Weather Channel's high school essay contest is just days away. Of course, there’s no doubt that your passion has pulled you into eco-action of one form or another already, and that’s just what they’re looking for in your entry. The things you’re doing today to help keep the planet green and clean.

The winning entries will snag their student authors a free trip to Washington D.C. to be a part of the Forecast Earth Summit, a conference for high school students on environmental issues we took some time to cover last year here on TreeHugger.

So while there’s just a couple of days to pull it together, if you’re passionate and have a thing or two you’ve been up to that you’d like to tell the world about there’s no doubt that you can still enter a potentially winning entry before midnight EST on Sunday, October 19, 2008.
