"There is No Such Thing as Global Warming": Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum (Video)

And so it has come to this. The friendly competish amongst GOP presidential candidates to see who could most fully disavow the existence of climate change has been won. Tim Pawlenty gave it a pretty good run for his money, apologizing for ever trying to limit carbon pollution. Palin, Bachmann, and Herman Cain had already expressed the requisite doubts over climate change was even caused by man. Mitt Romney and John Huntsman finished dead last, having the audacity to acknowledge that man-caused global warming is scientifically-supported fact.

But now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you the hands-down winner, Rick Santorum:(Via Brad Johnson at Think Progress Green)

Beck: Oil?

Santorum: Drill. Drill everywhere.

Beck: Coal?

Santorum: Absolutely. Natural gas. We have huge stores. 263 years of oil at the current rate, almost 200 years of gas, and 300 years of coal.

Beck: What about global warming?

Santorum: There is no such thing as global warming. It is, in my opinion, there are hundreds of factors that cause the Earth to warm and cool, and the trace gas -- of which human participation in this trace gas -- is ...

Beck: This could seal the deal for me. Whatever, I got enough.

We have a winner! Yeee-haw! Sometimes I forget that winning the favor of the conservative base of the GOP demands doing your best impression of an old timey oil tycoon.

Oil? Why, drill away, I say! Coal? What are ye waitin' for -- shovel it in! Science? Never heard of it!

Sigh. You'd be forgiven for forgetting it was 2011. Good thing that trends seem to indicate that such nonsensical Tea Party-style obliviousness is falling out of favor ...
