Reoccupy Main Street: Small Business is the 99%

I thought I had invented #OccupyMainStreet in my earlier post, but in Dallas, members of the local #occupy movement created a poster as an outreach to small business, and a Facebook page Reoccupy Main Street. They write:
This year, many Big Box Retailers are opening their doors at midnight, the eve of Thanksgiving. Black Friday is starting on Thursday. The same Big Box Retailers have been draining the life out of our Mom and Pop business districts for decades, leaving our cities and towns blander, drearier and more numbingly alike. Reclaim the spirit of the season by voting with your dollars. Invest your time and money in family, neighborhood and community.
Reoccupy Main Street.
This a good alternative for those who object to Small Business Saturday because it is supported by American Express, which one retailer said had fees that were prohibitive for small business. A valid point.
Another Facebook page has suggested that we Occupy Black Friday, But Reoccupy Main Street is a far more positive approach.
Small Business is the 99%. Vote with your dollars. This holiday season, invest your time and money in family, neighborhood and community. Reoccupy Main Street.
