"What is MERRY for you? We've been asking this simple question to people all over the world and collecting their smiles and messages."

I like this approach: Merry Project is a communication-art project to spread the wave of "Merry" under the theme of "Smile is a universal language". You can help them get the message accross. They believe each person that participates in Merry Project "minds and cares for the Earth in their smiles and their messages will link to each other acoss global borders." As we mentioned earlier here on Treehugger, they do fun project teaching kids how to grow food.

Merry Project was active in Kobe after the devastating earthquake, and again last year in Beijing, China during the Olympics. Photographer Koji Mizutani promoted the simple, wonderful idea of "smile" at the Beijing National Stadium (pdf) .

A lot of people are Merry Members, and it is nothing like Twitter. Just good people posting news and ideas about topics close to their hearts.

Hey, being cynical is old news, positive is the new merry!

This growing Merry Project is a communication-art project to spread the wave of "Merry" under the theme of "Smile is a universal language".

Starting in 2000, they have been collecting the "Merry" smiles and messages of people all over the world, and been developing their art activities such as poster exhibitions, audio/visual installations, and publications of art/photo books and free papers. They are also actively developing regional development activities including various kinds of workshops to encourage local towns to be hrm, well, more "Merry!"
