NYU Greens Campus Move-Out Day

Expecting to keep about 25,000 pounds of reusable goods out of the landfill, this Saturday’s inaugural "Green Apple Move Out" collection drive being organized to coincide with the annual dorm move-out means students rooming at NYU will have a greener choice when it comes to getting rid of that old futon they just keep meaning to find another use for.According to the NYU Sustainability Task Force unwanted and gently used items and even non-perishable food are being accepted at designated locations on campus between noon and 4 p.m.

Ultimately, the unwanted goods will find themselves in the hands of local non-profits that can ensure they wind up as someone else’s treasure rather than just another piece of trash.

For more information you can check out NYU's Sustainability Task Force website.
