Japan's Toshiba buys American Westinghouse From British to sell Nukes to China

The next time we wax eloquent about Toshiba , its batteries and fuel cells, we should remember that it is also a player in the nuclear industry and about to become a major force. In one of those complicated "the World is Flat" type transactions, it bought American nuclear builder Westinghouse from British Nuclear Fuels, owned by the British Government, which bought it from, get this- CBS. Why? China, which likes its pressurised-water reactors and plans to spend $50 billion to build 30 reactors by 2020. Nuclear power is back on the menu all over the world these days- we think conservation is the best power source, but that doesn't play in China. ::Sunday Times
