Diesel Sports Car Makes History in Opening Le Mans Race

We love hearing about diesels kicking ass, so we’re happy to report that Audi Sport North America made history this weekend by winning a Le Mans series race with their R10 TDI. This marks the first time a diesel has won a major sports car race. The prototype car won by three laps in the 12 Hours of Sebring race in Florida, the opening race of the 2006 Le Mans series. This win paves the way for competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France later this season. Last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans saw its first biodiesel competitor. :: Le Mans (thanks to Zach for the tip)
