BP Oil Spill Sparks a Crude Awakening (VIDEO)

Check out this powerful video—made as an unsolicited donation to the National Wildlife Federation—that drives home the impact that the BP oil spill is having on wildlife in the Gulf of Mexico. Granted, there's a glimmer of good news for the endangered sea turtle: BP and the Coast Guard have agreed to stop burning sea turtles alive and to take measures to rescue sea turtles before the corralled oil is burned.

(To learn more about the threats facing the Gulf's sea turtles and other wildlife, listen to Duke University's conservation ecology specialist Stuart Pimm in a podcast devoted to this topic.)

But it's an understatement to say that more steps are needed.

Maybe this video (and if not, the vuvuzelas) will inspire BP and the government to take those steps.
