Don't expect any action from the Senate on a climate bill until September, after the summer recess. That's the word from Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chair Barbara Boxer. However Reuters quotes Boxer as saying that "We'll do it as soon as we get back."Formerly she had proposed an early-August deadline to finish writing the bill.
No Guarantee Obama Will Have Bill in Time for CopenhagenThough Boxer said that there's still plenty of time to get a climate bill passed by the end of the year, she added that she could not guarantee that President Obama would have the bill in hand when he travels to Copenhagen at the start of December for the UN COP15 climate talks.
