X Challenge Oil Spill Cleanup Winners Beat Industry Standard Tech By 400%

I'll let the video above from CNBC do most of the talking here, but the quick version is that the winning team in the X Challenge Oil Cleanup competition created an oil spill cleanup technique that's roughly 400% better than the current industry standard.
The winners' method cleaned up 4720 gallons per minute, with 89.5% efficiency in oil to water. The baseline for the contests was 2500 gallons per minute, with the current oil industry standard being about 1100 gallons per minute.

No reason to keep using oil, but surely good news in cleaning up the inevitable accidents that happen while we (hopefully, necessarily) rapidly stop using it.
