Logitech Creates Solar Keyboard For Macs

Last summer we highlighted Logitech's Wireless Solar Keyboard K750, and praised the design for a variety of features. But many people, including us here at EarthTechling, wondered when customers would see the product released for Apple users. Well, it took a year, but Logitech has finally released the solar powered keyboard for Macs.As we noted before, the keyboard is PVC-free in construction, and can be powered by sunlight or indoor lights, much like a solar powered calculator. Approximately 1/3 of an inch thick, the keyboard connects to a computer through a 2.4 GHz wireless spectrum, which the company says should ensure constant connectivity.

A light on the keyboard, as well as downloadable app feature, tells typists when the device is running low on juice and needs to be recharged, however, from our first report on the product, it seemed unlikely that the keyboard would power down if given even a small amount of light each day.

The price of the Mac version seems to have dropped, retailing for around $60, compared to the $80 price-point set when the keyboard was first introduced to the market. Available in five different colors, the keyboard can be ordered directly from the Logitech website.
