Green:Net is kicking off today, and you definitely know you're at a green conference the second you walk in the restroom...You know you're at a green conference when...

...the bathroom paper towel dispenser has a embodied energy label from WattzOn.

Of all the green conferences I've attended, it's the first time that I've seen embodied energy labels in bathrooms. While it is an extra piece of paper printed to be recycled at the end of the day, it likely is saving quite a few sheets of paper towels. When I saw it, I decided to just air dry my hands.

Along with this, there are many other green steps the conference is taking, from bins for recyclables and compostables, to solar powered wifi.

Mayor Gavin Newsom will be starting us off this morning, and coverage of his opening notes and everything else happening here today will follow. Stay tuned!
