For it's 200th birthday, French automobile giant Peugeot decided to celebrate its past by looking to the future. Thus was born the Concept EX1, the 100% electric, two motor, 340 horsepower juggernaut that has already broken six world records.First debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the EX1 has been dropping jaws ever since, most recently at the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, where it shattered the standing record for a 12 mile run by 50 seconds.

The EX1 is still nowhere near the speeds of the the world's fastest cars, but it is by a good measure the fastest electric vehicle out there today. And while this isn't the design that's going to lead the effort to green our transportation systems (doubly so, as it's a concept car), it feels good to know that electric power can be so...powerful.
