We recently reported that Nissan had received permission to road test a semi-autonomous version of the LEAF electric car on Japan's roads, a bit like what Google has been doing and Tesla wants to eventually do. Nissan took the opportunity of the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) show in Japan to showcase the technology and give rides, including to Toyota's CEO and many journalists (see videos below).

Nissan's goal is to have multiple commercially-viable Autonomous Drive vehicles by the year 2020.
